This week’s RAW was weird. You just felt like something had to happen. Then, with about a half hour left, Stephanie McMahon showed up.
The Women of the WWE will have their own Royal Rumble match. It’s groundbreaking and it’s well-deserved.
Away from that, there wasn’t a wild match or a monster vignette, although the debut of Hideo Itami and vignettes and spots from Matt Hardy and Elias Sampson were charming. Overall, RAW is moving in a direction- it’s just one that no one can determine. At this point, it feels like WWE Creative as well isn’t sure of what they have.
Matches:
Seth Rollins vs. Jason Jordan: Rollins got the win with the Knee, but Jordan was totally game and nearly won on a few occasions.
Seth Rollins vs. Samoa Joe: This match never happened as Joe destroyed both Rollins and Jordan before leaving.
Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel vs. Finn Balor: This match got thrown out after Axel and Dallas refused to stop beating on Balor. Soon enough, Hideo Itami made the save and a Tag Team match was booked.
Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel vs. Finn Balor and Hideo Itami: Balor was beat on for the majority of the match, but Itami got the hot tag and beat Axel with the Go to Sleep.
Winner Gets Cruiserweight Title Shot: Cedric Alexander vs. Drew Gulak: Excellent match where Gulak used strikes and consistently slowed things down, but Alexander got the win with the Lumbar Check.
Asuka vs. Alicia Fox: The Captain put up a fight but Asuka got the win with the Arm Bar.
Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Jason Jordan vs. RAW Tag Team Champions The Bar: Sheamus and Cesaro and Samoa Joe: This was a war but the finish was wonky as Ambrose was apparently injured and Cesaro got the win on Rollins after a Brogue Kick from Sheamus.
The Revival: Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder vs. Heath Slater and Rhyno: A quickie that saw The Revival win with the Shatter Machine on Slater.
Mickie James, Sasha Banks and Bayley vs. Paige, Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose: This match got thrown out after Absolution refused to stop their assault on their opponents. By the end of it all, Nia Jax tried to be the savior, but she got destroyed too. Soon enough, the entire Women’s Division was in the ring, but Stephanie McMahon soon hit the ring to end the brawl and announce that the WOmen’s Division would have its own Royal Rumble match.
