Christian Heath: One EP Review: A Breakout Star in Waiting

A collection of his popular radio hits in South Africa and his new single, Christian Heath is ready to make a huge splash in the United States. Featuring a diverse sound that will make him, if you’re a ‘90s baby, reminiscent of a plethora of acts you grew up listening to, his catchy and fun sound will grow on you.

“One” is the lead track on the EP and while its message of love and peace make it a fun track, it is aided and ultimately thrives thanks to plenty of musical diversity. Heath isn’t the best rapper, but the hook is a strong one, aided by his work on the chorus, that is equally infectious.

“Tonight” has a more Enrique Iglesias feel to it, a sexy ballad all about “pouring out your love.” The sultry guitar work and female vocal work add to the exotic and sexy flavoring. Bottom line, it’s completely different from every other song on the EP.

This is also the case with “I’m Yours,” as it has that Backstreet Boys “Drowning” feel to it as it’s all about love and acceptance. While Heath has fun on other tracks, this song is where his natural range and talent shines brightest. The beat, the vocals, the instrumental crescendo, it all adds up to a strong track that belongs on the radio in the United States. Bottom line, this is the best song on the EP. “Paradise” echoes many of those vocal sentiments as well, making it a solid 1A on the EP.

Simply put, Christian Heath’s EP is perfect to brighten up a rainy day. His tracks are mushy, but powerful, resulting in a listenability that can’t be denied.
