205 Live Coverage: Ali Continues to Shine

A solid opener and main event were enough to make this week’s episode watchable, but the WWE continues to treat the Cruiserweight Division like its red-headed stepchild.

The Brian Kendrick, Jack Gallagher and Drew Gulak vs. Lucha House Party: Kalisto, Gran Metalik and Lince Dorado: The heels had their methods used against them as Metalik countered the Bully Choke into a Rollup- and a fist-full of tights. Overall, a lengthy and solid opener that catered to all the competitors.

Akira Tozawa vs. Steve Irby: A squash that Tozawa won with the Senton Bomb.

Mustafa Ali w/Cedric Alexander vs. Tony Nese w/Buddy Murphy: Ali got the win with 054 in a match that was solid but didn’t get nearly as hairy as you thought it would with Alexander and Murphy ringside.
