White Label Analog : Everybody Knows Single Review: The Next Song You’ll Hear at Every Party

Hailing from Austin, White Label Analog is hot off the heels of their tour for the breakout album In Case You Just Tuned In. The alt-rockers seek to keep the spirit of the late 90s/early 2000s style bubblegum rock with their last album, but with Everybody Knows the band has a titan of a track on their hands. The track from the beginning entices the listener with an air of whimsy with the intro chorus, which goes quickly into a familiar pop sound but with heavy percussion to keep your attention. From here the song shoots like a rocket and if you get too lost in the excitement you may lose the finer points which truly make the song it can all be.

Everybody Knows is the song that will brighten your day after one listen. It simultaneously feels like a party anthem and a love song all at once, giving it an almost cinematic quality. The chorus itself, “Awake with my best friend, crack a smile when you hold my hand. It doesn’t get any better than this, girl” seems almost like the perfect line for a modern love song, followed by such affectionate lines such as “Everybody sees, my eyes give me away” just melt your heart with its delivery that you’ll find yourself cracking a smile when you hear it. All the while the bright and poppy beats hold your attention front and center delivered in the White Label Analog 2000’s alt-rock package that gives the track its sense of individuality.

Just one listen to Everybody Knows will leave you wanting more. Its mix of feel-good lyrics and sunny beats just make the catchy lines that much more of an earworm with a beat you will no doubt hum without realizing it. When you find yourself listening to it on repeat you may ask yourself why you aren’t hearing this on the radio. Or in a movie soundtrack. White Label Analog says move over to the likes of Owl City and Ariana Grande to show that Pop-Rock is still alive and well, with a future as bright as the flavors of its bubblegum roots.
