In the few short months that NXT UK has existed, its already taken wrestling fans by storm. The build to TakeOver: Blackpool is about to pop off with tonight’s contract signing between Pete Dunne and Joe Coffey. It looks like we will see the fledgling brand bloom in 2019, and it will start in Blackpool.
Toni Storm vs. “The Virtuosa” Deonna Purrazzo:
The crowd was firmly behind Storm for this competitive bout, which started with some crisp technical wrestling. The Virtuosa got a little too cocky and ate a basement dropkick but soon regained control. Both women were impressive but eventually Storm caught the New Jersey native with a Snap German Suplex and Storm Zero for the win.
Josh Morrell vs. “Wild Boar” Mike Hitchman:
Morrell hit a few moves, but Hitchman cut him down with a Cannonball in the corner followed by a Boar Splash to secure the pinfall.
Eddie Dennis vs. Dave Mastiff:
Dennis jumped Bomber as soon as the bell rang. Mastiff quickly regained control with a High Cross Body and a Dropkick. Things got too physical for the ref who called for the bell ending the match with a double DQ. These two didn’t care though and continued to brawl. General Manager Johnny Saint came out to announce the pair would clash in a No DQ match at TakeOver: Blackpool.
At the contract signing for the UK Championship match at TakeOver Blackpool: Joe Coffey put Pete Dunne through a table and stood tall to close the show.
