Review Fix chat with Muddy Wolfeâ€™s Steve Smith, who lets us know all about the bandâ€™s origin, goals and signature sound.
Review Fix:Â How did the project start?Â
Steve Smith:Â Muddy Wolfe was actually born in Taiwan. I was living there and put a band together including Caitlin and recorded the first single The Sun Also Rises.
After returning to Australia at the start of 2018 a new band was assembled and Caitlin came back shortly
Review Fix: What’s your creative process like?
Smith:Â I am the main songwriter but one song on the E.P. was written by Kim and we collaborated on the arrangement of the tune. Going forward weâ€™ll be trying to get a full album finished by the end of the year which will be more of a collaborative effort and will be tracked live to have a more authentic in the moment vibe.Â
Review Fix:Â What’s your standout song? How was it written?
Smith: Life of a Working Man- Written and sung by Kim Yang. She wrote it for a music assignment for music school and I heard a recording of it on her own soundcloud page and I convinced her to try it with the band. We put a groove to it and a guitar riff and added a bridge. It was the one song we collaborated on the most.

Review Fix:Â How do you want your music to affect people?
Smith:Â We hope that we connect with somebody in some way and inspire them and hope they find the time to listen to some of our stories.Â
