WWE RAW Coverage: Stomped Out Before Stomping Grounds

With Stomping Grounds this Sunday, WWE’s Red Brand needed a huge jolt to make the event worthwhile.

But with the wild card rule in effect, RAW’s roster did little to get itself over and creative instead tried to promote the entire show. The end result was another less than mediocre show that did nothing to build excitement for Stomping Grounds.

Matches:

WWE United States Championship #1 Contender’s Elimination Match: Bobby Lashley vs. Braun Strowman vs. Cesaro vs. Ricochet vs. The Miz: Strowman was able to take out Cesaro and Lashley, but Ricochet got the last laugh with the 630, thanks to help from the men Strowman defeated. With just The Miz left, Ricochet finished him off with a Codebreaker and another 630.

Randy and Russ Taylor vs. The Viking Raiders: Erik and Ivar: A squash thanks to the Viking Experience.

2/3 Falls Match: Baron Corbin, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn vs. The New Day: Big E, WWE Champion Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods: Lots of offense here before Woods beat Zayn with a School Boy.

Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson vs. Jimmy and Jey Uso: Anderson and Gallows were in control until Gallows got caught with a Double Super Kick in defeat.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions: The Iconics: Peyton Royce and Billie Kay vs. Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross: With Bayley ringside, Bliss was distracted and that allowed Kay to Rollup Cross for the win.

WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins vs. WWE Smackdown Tag Team Champion Daniel Bryan w/WWE Smackdown Tag Team Champion Erick Rowan: This got thrown out originally after Rowan Claw Slammed Rollins on the apron and The Revival, New Day and Usos all got enough. However, it was soon restarted with no one ringside.

With the match back underway, this was a classic back and forth as Bryan nearly won with an Ankle Lock and the Yes Lock, but Rollins fought back and won with The Curb Stomp. After the match, Corbin took out Rollins with a steel chair and the End of Days to end the show.
