Marty Scurll – The Hero Within the Villain

The wrestling world has seen many heroes, powerful, wild, strong and fighter by will. But when it comes to being the villain only one name pops up, Martin “Marty” Scurll. Synonyms like “The Villain” and “Party Marty” are stars to the personality he has developed into with time. The match ended with Scurll snapping Travises fingers and the sound echoing the stadium. What makes this act villainous is that, Travis was back to wrestling after recovering from cancer. The phrase “just a gimmick” was gone forever.

Now, every time Marty hushed the audience to silence, people knew what was the silence built for.

From being the Party Marty, he soon gained popularity to become a worldwide superstar. There was a time when it was hard to find a show on which the ‘Villain’ has not been. His dedication, passion and impact was so intriguing that no matter how many people hated his cruelty, he couldn’t be ignored. ‘The villain’ rose to global acclaim. He joined the US Ring of Honor and also won the ROH Television Championship.

Marty’s impact couldn’t be contained to the rings only. He soon became one of the top-20 merchandise sellers on Pro Wrestling Tees, CM Punk, The Young Buck etc. The charisma of the ‘Villain’ is such so that his presence made the audience and the crowd wooed. With his menacing beard, sunglasses and coat, he created a persona of his own, unmatched. 

Marty Scurll is the man who has shown how a personality can create stone scripts of his own. He has shed sweat and blood when wrestling was not much of a deal as it is now. He himself turned himself from a good wrestler to the great. He is the perfect unanimous blend of talent and showmanship.
