Review Fix Exclusive: Jennifer Denali Talks ‘Falling Leaves’ And More

Review Fix chats with singer/songwriter Jennifer Denali, who discusses her new single, “ Falling Leaves” and more.

Review Fix: How did you get involved in music?

Jennifer Denali: My love for music started at an early age. Anytime my family was listening to music it was our happiest moments. As a child, I loved to sing and wanted to do that forever and I just kept following my love for music ever since.

Review Fix: What’s your creative process like?

Denali: My creative process happens in different forms. It can happen by freestyle singing in the booth, writing down lyrics, collaborating with other writers and it’s happening all the time because inspiration is everywhere.

Review Fix: How does being from NY help you as a singer?

Denali: Being from New York helps me more as a person, I’ve got thick skin and I’ve handled a lot of challenges personally and professionally. In terms of singing, it’s helped my live show a lot. It’s helped me understand how to get New Yorkers’ attention.

Review Fix: What inspires you?

Denali: Staying in the moment inspires me. Knowing that life is temporary and that it’s bigger than us, allows me to see my purpose in music. Music is my spiritual journey.

Review Fix: How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard of you?

Denali: To put it simply, pop R&B and with a message.

Review Fix: How are your live shows different from your studio work?

Denali: It’s different in every capacity in terms of performance. In the studio, I can take it back and do it again. In the live show, you get one shot.

Review Fix: What was your biggest disappointment in the music industry and what do you think you’ve learned from it?

Denali: I don’t like to think of things in terms of disappointments. Sure not everything meets my expectations 100% of the time. I think I’ve learned to enjoy the ride and strive for the best and to be as prepared as possible for what comes my way.

Review Fix: Why music?

Denali: It’s really the base and foundation of what I intend to do with my brand in the future.

Review Fix: What inspired your latest single?

Denali: My new single “Falling Leaves” is coming mid-October. It was inspired by a vision I had of a girl who looks outside of her own environment and does something out of the norm. She loves herself.

Review Fix: What are your goals for the rest of 2019?

Denali: This year has gone so fast. 2019 is basically done. I want to create amazing memories with my fans, friends, family and just move forward together.

Review Fix: Anything else you’d like to add?

Denali: I can’t wait to write my next album!
