NXT Coverage: 1916 All Over Again

A handful of solid matches, but the continued drama surrounding the NXT Title made sure that the Yellow Brand stayed hot after Survivor Series.

Matches:

Keith Lee and Dominic Dijakovic vs. NXT Tag Team Champions: Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong (replacing injured Bobby Fish): This was a war from start to finish and featured an interesting end as Lee pounced Adam Cole into the crowd, but left Dijak wide open for the Hi/Lo so Fish and Strong could retain their titles.

Shane Thorne vs. Mansoor: Thorne didn’t lay down, but Mansoor got the win with the Springboard Neckbreaker.

Candice LeRae vs. Dakota Kai: Kai has gone full heel and lost via DQ and continued to beat on LeRae before Rhea Ripley made the save.

Cruiserweight Champion Lio Rush vs. Akira Tozawa: Excellent match that saw a mistake from Tozawa cost him as Rush won with a pair of Frog Splashes.

Xia Li vs. Vanessa Borne w/Aliyah: Li won quickly with the Kick, but Shayna Baszler and her cronies hit the ring and beat on her before Rhea Riley said she wanted a piece.

Tommaso Ciampa vs. Finn Balor: Adam Cole ended up costing Ciampa the match and Balor finished him off with the 1916. After the match, Balor took out Cole as well.
