Review Fix Exclusive: Matt LeGrand Talks ‘White Christmas’ And More

Review Fix chats with singer/songwriter Matt LeGrand, who discusses his new ‘White Christmas’ cover and his goals for 2020.

Review Fix: How has 2019 treated you?

Matt LeGrand: 2019 has treated me so well! I measure how well my year is going by taking a look at how I’m growing. Am I moving forward? Am I learning from mistakes? I can’t wait to start the decade with the release of my album! I see 2019 as the whole 10’s decade combined. It tested me, challenged, and prepared me for my career to take off. 2020 here we come!

Review Fix: Why does Christmas matter to you?

LeGrand: My family is really placed all over the world and Christmas is the one holiday that has to be done together! Also one of my favorite activities is being cozy and there’s no better time than Christmas to partake in that!

Review Fix: Why sing Christmas songs?

LeGrand: Why not sing Christmas songs! I’m a big fan of cheese, both the food and the adjective. I think the songs are the perfect vehicle to express being overly joyful. We tend to sometimes get uncomfortable when showing joy and I think that’s a good thing. You know that you’re really starting to love yourself when you can sing a cheesy Christmas song!

Review Fix: Why ‘White Christmas’?

LeGrand: It’s one of my favorites! I do dream every year about having a snowy Christmas. I usually don’t get it and sometimes I do! If I don’t then I can turn White Christmas on and dream away.

Review Fix: Favorite Christmas memory?

LeGrand: Going to visit my family in France for Christmas’s when I was younger.

Review Fix: Goals for 2020?

LeGrand: Getting this album released in January and performing, performing, performing, and then performing some more!

Review Fix: What else is next?

LeGrand: My debut album! It’s finally done. It’s been in the making for awhile now and I couldn’t be happier that it’s now done!
