Review Fix Exclusive: Reaven’s Roméo Bassi Talks ‘Escape’ And More

Review Fix chats with Reaven’s Roméo Bassi (Lead Singer and Guitarist), who discusses the band’s origin, goals and more.

Review Fix: How did the project start?

Roméo Bassi: “It’s a long story of love ahah, but to cut it short, we started to make music together at school, years ago. It began with concerts in our hometown for Vince (drummer of the band) and I (Lead-singer / Guitarist of the band). But we always wanted to tour everywhere. And this is where our 1st european tours arrived in our story… Before the US tour we were supposed to give in 2020.”

Review Fix: What’s your creative process like?

Bassi: “I don’t have a precise creative process to create music. Most of the time, it comes to my mind out of nowhere. Days, and nights. I have a melody in my head or the instrumental parts, sometimes both. So I take my piano or my guitar and I start playing it. Inspiration is everywhere for me. In my feelings, in my observation of the world or society, in the past, in my memories. Or just when I see something that inspires me at one moment.”

Review Fix: What’s your standout song? How was it written?

Bassi: “Hard to select one song only, but recently, our last single “Escape” was very personal to me. I composed it during a night of quarantine and wrote it directly. I tried to express the different feelings we were all going through this very difficult time…”

Review Fix: What are your goals for 2020?

Bassi: “We are actually working on our next album (it will be released this year I think). And also re-scheduling our European tour and US tour for 2021…”

Review Fix: How do you want your music to affect people?

Bassi: “Above all, I want people to feel the emotions we try to put in all our songs. To feel the vibes, to connect properly with us.”

Review Fix: What’s next?

Bassi: “Trying to re-build our next tours, release the album, maybe a new music video. And continue to spread our music all around the world and connect with people!!”
