NXT Results: Scene Set For Takeover XXX

The go-home show for TakeOver 30 set the scene for the landmark event. An entertaining segment between Adam Cole and Pat MacAfee, as well as great matches, made a more than solid episode of NXT.

Matches:

NXT TakeOver 30 North American Championship Ladder Match Qualifier: Ridge Holland vs. Johnny Gargano: After avoiding serious injury on a Holland POwerslam that spiked him on the head, Gargano kicked the middle rope while Holland stepped into the ring and followed up with One Final Beat to punch his ticket to TakeOver 30.

Dakota Kai vs. Jessi Kamea: Kai hoisted Kamea into a Fireman’s Carry and hit the GTK to score the win. After the bell, Kai grabbed a mic and talked trash about Io Shirai who gladly met her challenge. However, a returning Raquel Gonzalez put her boot to the Champs jaw and beat her down.

Isaiah “Swerve” Scott and Breezango: Tyler Breeze and Fandango vs. Legado del Fantasma: Raul Mendoza, Joaquin Wilde, and the NXT Cruiserweight Champion: Santos Escobar: Scott got overzealous and tried to make a cover when he wasn’t the legal man and LDF jumped him. Breeze tried to make the save but Escobar dropped him with the Phantom Driver to score the win.

Robert Stone Brand: Aliyah and Mercedes Martinez w/ Robert Stone vs. Rhea Ripley and Shotzi Blackheart: Ripley Powerbombed Martinez over the barricade into the concrete, leaving Aliyah alone in the middle of the ring. Blackheart took the chance to hit the top rope Senton and secure the pinfall victory.

NXT TakeOver 30 North American Championship Ladder Match Qualifier: Finn Balor vs. Velveteen Dream: The four other competitors made an appearance and incapacitated the ref. Timothy Thatcher appeared out of nowhere and handed Balor a receipt for his recent attack and fed him to Dream who was waiting to deliver the Purple Rainmaker to secure hit spot at TakeOver.
