Review Fix Exclusive: Planet For Sale’s Rooz Golpa Talks Goals And More

Review Fix chats with Rooz Golpa, Lead singer, guitarist and co-founder of PLANET FOR SALE, who discusses the band’s origin, goals and their best work.

Review Fix: How did the project start?

Rooz Golpa: We were a band for a very long time but me and Jim found PLANET FOR SALE  when we retreated back to my old room and started coming up with a new concept of songwriting. The old concept was a Connected song-verse. We wanted to save that and use stories to reflect on what’s happening in the real world, Our home,  this vulnerable blue planet.  as I was thinking about all the things that are fading away, I was drawing a circle on a piece of paper and that was when the three words that made the band name was dropped like an ink.

Review Fix: What’s your creative process like?

Golpa: Usually we come up with a little bit of a melody and I have some sort of proms written it in advance. Usually we’ve had a bad week and when we start playing the guitars we talk about what’s happened or what we’ve seen that’s happened and it goes from there. Peoples stories and memories are very valuable to us and we always want to base to song around something that people can relate to. It does vary tho!

Review Fix: What’s your standout song? How was it written?

Golpa: We are really proud of our new single ‘Old Father Time’ . It’s a song about time and how we always lose in the race against it. It’s like a three-part confession and it builds into a meaning that we should live life to the max and never wait for anything to happen.

Review Fix: What are your goals for the rest of 2020?

Golpa: The Corona-crazy has been hard on everyone. We spent that time strengthening our online presence and we are looking to get back on the stage towards the end of 2020. We’re also putting out a couple more singles to lift everybody’s mood.

Review Fix: How do you want your music to affect people?

Golpa: We want you and as many people as we can dream to sing, smile and shed a tear at the same time. that will complete us and after that all our worries are buried.  we get great responses from the crowd and we wanna keep that going.

Review Fix: What’s next?

Golpa: Cup of tea and a new song.
