NXT Coverage: Priest Puts Away Thatcher

A solid card and the building of a few new feuds highlighted this week’s NXT.

Matches:

Shotzi Blackheart vs. NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai: Blackheart was solid in this non-title match, but Shirai got the win with a Moonsault.

Desmond Troy vs. Tommaso Ciampa: The former NXT Champion won with the Willow’s Bell.

Austin Theory vs. Kushida: Theory didn’t have a chance as Kushida won with the Hoverbaord Lock.

NXT Tag Team Champions Tyler Breeze and Breezango vs. Imperium: Marcel Barthel and Fabian Eichner: Imperium looked primed to win with the European Bomb, but Breeze rolled up Eichner for the win.

Kayden Carter and Kacy Catanzaro vs. Jessie Kamea and Xi Li: Carter and Catanzaro won with an interesting Pump Kick/Mahistrol/Roll Up combination.

Bobby Fish and Roderick Strong vs. Drake Maverick and Killian Dane: Dane didn’t get involved until William Regal forced him to, but once he did, the Beast of Belfast was solid. However, Fish hit him with a chair to get DQed. Dane and Maverick ended up clearing the ring, but Dane punched out Maverick as well.

North American Champion Damian Priest vs. Timothy Thatcher: Priest won with The Reckoning, but Thatcher nearly got him to submit several times.
