WWE RAW Coverage: Lashley New WWE Champion

This was a weird week. Sure, Charlotte Flair made her intentions known that she wants a shot at Asuka and Drew McIntyre got some revenge on Sheamus, but the nonsense with The Miz and Bobby Lashley was interesting. Did it really need to take three different times to get a match to take place? Suspense is absolutely imperative in pro wrestling, but this was just too much, even for the WWE.

It’s an awesome day to see Lashley as WWE Champion. It was a great moment, but with the delay, fake stress pains, it limited the sizzle the moment could have had.

Matches:

Sheamus vs. Dew McIntyre: This was a war, but one that had to happen as McIntyre beat Sheamus with the Brogue Kick.

Naomi w/Lana vs. WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Nia Jax w/Shayna Baszler: Jax got the squash win.

WWE RAW Tag Team Champions: The Hurt Business: Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander vs. Braun Strowman and Adam Pearce: Strowman had the match won, but Pearce got Rolled Up.

Damian Priest w/24/7 Champion Bad Bunny vs. Elia w/Jaxson Ryker: It wasn’t an easy win, but Priest won with Hit the Lights

Bobby Lashley w/MVP vs. WWE Champion The Miz w/John Morrison: As soon as the match began, The Miz ran out of the arena and got counted out.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Shayna Baszler w/Nia Jax vs. Charlotte Flair: Flair was attacked early on but got the win with Natural Selection.

Retribution: Shane Thorne, Dio Maddin and Dominik Dijakovic w/Mia Yim and Mustafa Ali vs. Lucha House Party: Lince Dorado and Gran Metalik and United States Champion Matt Riddle: This was a fast one as The House Party used their speed to get the quick win. After the match, Ali challenged Riddle to a title match.

Mustafa Ali vs. United States Champion Matt Riddle: Thanks to interference from Retribution, Ali won its a Botched Top Rope Codebreaker.

Lumberjack Match: Bobby Lashley w/MVP vs. WWE Champion The Miz w/John Morrison: Lashley dominated and won the title with The Hurt Lock.
