NXT Coverage: Building the Mid-Card

The Samoa Joe interview to end the show was solid and made up for a slow first match and a few squash matches that did little to elevate the talent involved.

Sarray vs. Mandy Rose w/ Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne: Sarray and Rose traded a ton of strikes and Rose and her entourage eventually decided to walk out on the match to give Sarray the Count-Out victory.

Kyle O’Reilly vs. Duke Hudson: KOR won with the Knee Bar in a hard-fought encounter.

Imperium: Fabian Eichner and Marcel Barthel vs. Drake Maverick and Grayson Waller: Maverick is the teacher here and Waller is still learning. He got caught with Imperium’s Finisher here and definitely learned a lesson.

Johnny Gargano vs. LA Knight: Distractions from Dexter Lumis allowed Knight to hit the BFT for the win.

NXT Women’s Champion Raquel Gonzalez vs. Jessi Kamea: Kamea got in some licks, but Gonzalez was able to win with the Single-Arm Powerbomb.

Roderick Strong vs. Ikemen Jiro: With the Creed Brothers Watching, Strong won with a pair of Suplex Backbreaker variations.

Tommaso Ciampa vs. Ridge Holland: Ciampa won the war with Willow’s Bell, but after Pete Dunne got involved, as well as Oney Lorcan and Danny Birch before MSK made the save.
