Castlevania II: Belmont’s Revenge, is an action-adventure platformer game developed and published by Konami for the Nintendo Game Boy handheld system and it is the second Castlevania game to be released on that system. It is the direct sequel to the system’s previous title, Castlevania: The Adventure, and has Christopher Belmont, the star of the previous game, returning in a protagonist role, now on a quest to rescue his son, Soleil, from the powers of evil. The game was released in Japan on July 12, 1991, in North America in August 1991, and in Europe on November 26, 1992. This game is sometimes referred to as “Castlevania: The Adventure II: Belmont’s Revenge”, after the first Castlevania game for the Game Boy, to avoid confusion with the similarly-titled Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest.
