Things have definitely picked up on “Tough Enough.” Slowly but surely, the posers, hopefuls and pretty faces have been weeded out, with only the hungry left.
From here on in, the show is going to be solid.
Overall, the show has begun to let the chains off a bit, as this week the competitors were allowed to jump off the top rope for the first time. Even though many of the maneuvers the competitors perform are still basic, it’s a lot of fun to see these kids do the same moves you see over the course of the first few minutes of every match on RAW.
This episode was also interesting due to the fact that host Stone Cold Steve Austin sent home two contestants. This, in a way, changes the dichotomy of the show a bit. With Eric Watts and Ivelisse Velez gone, “Tough Enough” will have no more excuses. All of the contestant who remain are in adequate shape and want to learn. More importantly, they’re all teachable. However, many of the contestants are still incredibly green, which means it’s only a matter of time until someone gets injured.
Speaking of green, Jeremiah Riggs is one of the greener guy left, but his heart is easily the biggest. With more charisma than Martin Causas and void of Luke Robinson’s ego, he may have a chance to win this thing.
At the same time, Causas and Robinson are still the front-runners, with Causas being Mr. Consistency and Robinson stepping up his game after a bad week last week. Out of these two, who’s better? Right now the edge goes to Causas, but Robinson has the skill set to win the competition. The only question is can he keep his ego in-check long enough to get the job done?
Or will someone else step up and steal the show?
Regardless of what occurs, it should make for some quality TV.
