Hardcore Justice featured reveals, swerves and solid matches, but wasn’t the amazing show it could have been. Regardless, the return of the “old†AJ Styles is sure to inject the company with some much-needed energy.
Check out our weekly Impact Wrestling Power Rankings to see who else turned it up for Hardcore Justice.
5: Bobby Roode/Frank Karazarian/Christopher Daniels: Although Joseph Park got the big 20-point win in the Bound for Glory street fight and Austin Aries refused to join their stable, the trio is still on their way up. A win over the Tag Team Champions, Gunner and James Storm helped them inch their way on to the final spot of our Power Rankings.
4: Austin Aries: “The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived†turned down the trio of Bobby Roode, Frank Kazarian and Christopher Daniels and made sure the world knew he was a lone wolf. It’s a role that he’s at his best in and moving forward, TNA needs Aries at his best. It looks like that’s exactly what they’ll get.
3: Aces and Eights: The additions of Tito Ortiz and Brooke Tessmacher don’t make up for the loss of Devon, but “The Club†isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Look for another bombshell or two over the next few weeks that gets the group’s motor running stronger than ever before.
2: Main Event Mafia: Sure, they just cut down The Aces and Eights by a member, but without Kurt Angle, they were already shorthanded. The addition of AJ Styles to the group however makes them the strongest faction in the company.
1: AJ Styles: It’s a terrible creative move for TNA, fueled by Kurt Angle’s absence, but it makes as much sense as TNA can make. Styles could have been great as the brooding loner, but it appears that will never happen the way many expected it to. The “old†AJ Styles is back.
