Five solid matches made up an entertaining Lockdown card, but one that was essentially void of surprises.
Check out our TNA Lockdown Rankings to what happened on a night that on the surface fueled uneventful, but could have long-lasting repercussions in Impact Wrestling.
Honorable Mention: The Revolution: These guys play the numbers game and they do it better than anyone in TNA. Using the strength of Khoya and the speed of Sanada and Manik, Storm and Abyss were able to not only beat the Hardy Boys at Lockdown and retain the TNA Tag Team titles, but put a massive exclamation point on the match afterwards. While the Beat Down Clan gets all the attention in TNA, The Revolution may be even more powerful.
5: Awesome Kong: Her win over Havoc at Lockdown cements her as the legitimate alpha female in TNA. With Taryn Terrell still the Knockouts Champion, Kong will try to do the same thing she did to Gail Kim a few years ago, have an athletic match with a much smaller opponent and win the Knockouts title.
4: Ethan Carter III: This guy has the tools to be a wonderful heel and the small size of Rockstar Spud makes it even easier to hate Carter. With Tyrus by his side, it’s time for Carter to finish off Spud and get involved in the TNA World Heavyweight title picture- or even challenge for the TNA Tag Team titles.
3: Bobby Roode: “The It Factor†said he was going to make Eric Young bleed at Lockdown and that’s exactly what he did.The Roode Bomb on the steel chair to end their match also makes sure that Young learns his lesson and isn’t going to get involved in Roode’s business ever again. Now ready for another shot at the TNA World Heavyweight title, Roode has momentum on his side and one thorn in Young, off of it.
2: The Beat Down Clan: It took a great performance from an injured Gunner, as well as special nights from Kurt Angle and Austin Aries, combined with a fresh Bobby Lashley to take them out. Any other faction would have fell apart much earlier, but the BDC is no ordinary group. Win, lose or draw, these are four of the most talented performers in the company and with the added influence of Eric Young, they are a force.
1: Bobby Lashley: Good champions aren’t scared to pick sides and Lashley’s decision to help Kurt Angle at Lockdown has cemented his status as a face. The most dominant champion in TNA history, he’ll have many more chances to prove it against the BDC.
