WWE Cruiserweight Classic Power Rankings: Johnny Wrestling

If this week’s episode of the Cruiserweight Classic was just Tommaso Ciampa vs. Johnny Gargano, no one would have complained. they would have just asked for an encore. However, in the end, Gargano advanced

Check out this week’s WWE Cruiserweight Classic Power Rankings to see who else advanced to the Sweet 16 of the tournament.

Honorable Mention: Fabian Aichner:
This dude is mega young, but his unique blend of power and high flying maneuvers makes him someone to keep an eye on.

5: Noam Dar: The weakest victory of the night was Dar’s, but that was only because of the wild matches that started and ended the show. Smooth and charismatic, he has a ton of potential. Add in the Knee Bar and Fisherman’s Brainbuster and Dar has the moveset to succeed.

4: Jack Gallager: He is unique. Like a combination of William Regal, Daniel Bryan and Norman Smiley, Gallager is a gentleman, but a mat wrestler that will work his heart out in the ring, his first round win was proof of that.

3: Tommaso Ciampa: Even in defeat, Ciampa proved he’s one of the top cruiserweight in the world and someone the WWE should be thrilled to have on their NXT roster.

2: Rich Swann: How could you not like this guy? With a wonderful standing 450 finisher and a ton of charisma, he’s got “it.” Cruiserweight or not, there’s something incredibly special here with him that the WWE must develop. If they don’t he’ll definitely catch on somewhere else.

1: Johnny Gargano: Nothing against his opponent and tag team partner Tommaso Ciampa, but Gargano, a former Dragon’s Gate Champion, was the better man this week and will advance to face TJ Perkins. Johnny Wrestling is a star, make no mistake, even with a smaller size and a lack of the type of mic skills the WWE covets. Much like a Chris Benoit or Daniel Bryan, Gargano has plenty of potential to grow into the performer they need him to be.
