Review Fix Exclusive: J.E.F.F. II Talks ‘Hollywood Anthem’ And More

Review Fix chats with singer/songwriter J.E.F.F. II, who discusses his new track “Hollywood Anthem,” as well as his creative process and goals for the future.

Review Fix: How did this project come together?

J.E.F.F. II: I’ve been writing music for years but I never published any serious video clip or release. I was too busy playing in bands or recording for other people. I recently decided that it was time to release something on my own and it feels really good!

Review Fix: What’s your creative process like?

J.E.F.F. II: I work in three steps. First I write the song, from start to finish. Then I’m working on the production: the effects, the sound of the drums, the guitars, the samples… And then I start mixing the final result. It took me a long time to get to this level of discipline, when you’re working alone you have to stay motivated and try not to waste time.

Review Fix: What’s your standout song?

J.E.F.F. II: My new track called ‘Hollywood Anthem’ It’s a fun song. It’s meant to be played live, it sounds like a mash up of electronic music and arena rock from the 80’s

Review Fix: How was it written?

J.E.F.F. II: I was looking to create a good opening song for my live performances. Something straightforward, pretty upfront and aggressive.

Something that the crowd can get into instantly. There’s no warm up on stage, I want the people to go crazy right from the start.

Review Fix: What are your goals for the rest of 2018?

J.E.F.F. II: Finishing my album, filming and producing a new music video, releasing one or two singles. Rehearsing with the band to get ready to tour in 2019. It’s gonna be exciting, my music is gaining more and more attention online so the mood is pretty happy these days.

Review Fix: How do you want your music to affect people?

J.E.F.F. II: I don’t know really, it’s instrumental music you know. There’s no lyrics or messages or anything…. It’s all about the sound and the vibe. I want the people to feel connected to the music. When you hear a great song you just wanna do one thing: hit the repeat button over and over again.

Review Fix: What’s next?

J.E.F.F. II: The album and the live performances! I’ve been producing in my studio for so long…When you’re working for weeks and weeks in a small room, you become a bit anti social at one point *laughs* I can’t wait to be on stage to play all these tracks and see how the people like it.
