Review Fix Exclusive: Shattered’s Tony Pettry Talks Goals For 2019 And More

BReview Fix chats with Shattered’s Tony Pettry, who discusses the band’s creative process, goals and standout track, “Pride.”

Review Fix: How did the project start?

Tony Pettry: Tony Weaver and I started Shattered in 2014 after realizing how good our styles meshed together and formed a unique sound that we wanted to move forward with.

Review Fix: What’s your creative process like?

Pettry: We throw ideas at each other and it just seems like the other band members have the perfect idea to compliment my riffs and song ideas. Quite amazing actually how it all comes together because all our music styles are so different.

Review Fix: What’s your standout song? How was it written?

Pettry: Our most standout song is probably Pride. We came up with the really cool riff and made it about something we really believe in as anti-bullying and sticking up for yourself. The fans really like this song and at every show, they usually sing along.

Review Fix: What are your goals for 2019?

Pettry: We plan on finishing up our new album called Skinwalker and going on tour late in the year. Shattered really wants to become known worldwide reaching out of our local scene for more opportunities.

Review Fix: How do you want your music to affect people?

Pettry: We would like to have people notice the unique sound that separates us from most bands. With our old school riffs to the newer style all fans can take something away from our music and  say, “Wow, that was cool.”

Review Fix: What’s next?

Pettry: Writing, Writing and Writing … Look forward to Shattered releasing many new albums rather quickly because the ideas keep rolling in faster than we can put them together. So much on the back burner.
