Review Fix Exclusive: Awaiting Eli’s Eric Tomes Talks ‘Unfiltered’ And More

Review Fix chats with Awaiting Eli’s Eric Tomes, who discusses his creative process, origin in music and the band’s latest effort, “Unfiltered.”

Review Fix: How did you get involved in music? 

Eric Tomes: I started playing drums back when I was kid. That transitioned over to guitar as the years progressed and then started writing songs. 

Review Fix: What performers inspire you the most? 

Tomes: Alice In Chains and STP, Filter, Limp Bizkit.

Review Fix: What’s on your musical bucket list? 

Tomes: Get out there playing them arenas and big festivals. Putting out inspiring and good messages to people. 

Review Fix: Goals for 2019? 

Tomes: Have successful launches of these new tunes and get back to some of our favorite cities and see some new ones.

Review Fix: What makes your music scene special? 

Tomes: We have a pretty descent group of talent in Omaha. It’s pretty nice from rock to Indie to country etc we got a lot of great artist. 

Review Fix: How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard you? 

Tomes: Alice In Chains and Filter mixed with Limp Bizkit with some new school production. 

Review Fix: Bottom line, what makes you special? 

Tomes: We have a great sound. Nostalgic feels but something fresh and new. All these songs are stories and they are as real as they get.  

Review Fix: What next? 

Tomes: It’s time to get out there and put on some great live shows playing these new tunes for people. 

Review Fix: Anything else you’d like to add? 

Tomes: Keep an eye out we got a ton of new stuff coming.
