‘Tell Me You Love Me’ by Leela James: Free I-Tunes Single of the Week

Having a drastic similarity to the legends of Tina Turner and Aretha Franklin, Leela James is one hell of an outstanding American R&B and soul singer-songwriter. Now at the age of 27, she has grown up listening to artists James Brown, Gladys Knight and Marvin Gaye, which have had a huge impact on the type of style she has created for herself.

In total, James has released three albums. When it came down to the first two CD’s, “A Change Is Gonna Come” and “Let’s Do It Again,” there was a large gap of four years in-between the both.

Somehow, James has stepped up her game, releasing the second and third album just a year apart from one another. The third record called, “My Soul,” was recently displayed to the public on May 25, 2010.

This simply shows mere determination in how far she would like to go in this field of music and how fast she is willing to do so.

James’ newest and most popular single off of “My Soul” is under the title of “Tell Me You Love Me.”

In general, this particular track is extremely powerful and inspiring.

Such a title is self-explanatory, but with the help of James’ intense, courageous and spirited voice, the way she reflects her emotions is breathtaking.

She prompts herself as a woman who has given her all in a loving relationship, but it all unfortunately slipped away from her grasp. James explains how she plainly wants someone to love her in return, having them express it to her as much as possible.

This is pretty typical for all ladies to experience and crave such a thing.

The background music for “Tell Me You Love Me” can be described as funky and placed in the genre of gospel. It demonstrates the confidence that James has within herself, along with making vocals sound even more intriguing.

The beats for this song prevented the meaning of the lyrics from being sad. It’s clear that James wanted to send out her message in a positive perspective.

With the talent of legends and the boldness of a lion, everybody who decides to listen to James’ new and old tracks should expect nothing short of success.
