NXT Coverage: Owens Ready for a Fight, Bayley gets Shot at Banks

NXT continues to be more than a “developmental” show, with four matches and plenty of primer for the promotion’s next big event, NXT Takeover Brooklyn.

The card for NXT Takeover Brooklyn keeps getting bigger, with Samoa Joe and Baron Corbin getting added to the program, as well as the debut of Apollo Crews. With more prep for the card and a great match between Bayley and Becky Lynch, this week’s episode of NXT got a heck of a lot done in only an hour.

Matches:

Solomon Crowe vs. Tye Dillinger: The new-look and gimmick Dillinger wasn’t in control the entire match as Crowe was energetic and feisty, but Dillinger got the win with the modified One-Legged Codebreaker to the face of Crowe.

Baron Corbin vs. Axel Tischer: The NXT chances chanted boring before Corbin got the quick win with the End of Days. After the match, Corbin said that no one gets up from the End of Days. After he hit Steve Cutler with the move, Samoa Joe hit the ring and confronted Corbin, challenging him to a match. After Corbin went for the cheap shot, Joe locked in the Kokina Clutch and put the Lone Wolf to sleep.
