International Iron Man Comic Series Announced

Iron Man will extend his heroic operations to an international reach in a new comic book series coming in 2016.

“International Iron Man,” by Brian Michael Bendis (“Guardians of the Galaxy”) and Alex Maleev (“Daredevil”), takes the Golden Avenger out of New York to fight villains smart enough to avoid a city packed with superheroes.

“If I was a villain, New York is the last place I’d attack, because you know, just by math, there are 700 superheroes in a 17-block radius. I’d go anywhere else,” Bendis said in a press release. “We’ll be dealing with some of the criminals in the Marvel Universe who are smart enough to put that together in their head finally. Tony’s gonna be racing to help people that don’t necessarily always get the attention of the Marvel superheroes.”

Doctor Doom is said to accompany Stark on his global adventures, contributing his knowledge of the “dark underbelly of the Marvel Universe.”

The comic itself will also make its way around the globe. “International Iron Man” will be translated into the respective languages of 25 different countries, and it will reach more than 40 different countries in English.
