NXT Coverage: The End of An Era?

Well, you wanted an epic, you got it. While this week’s episode of NXT only featured one match, it was one that’ll change the company from here on out. With Samoa Joe’s victory over Sami Zayn, the main event for NXT Takeover Dallas is confirmed and if anything, Zayn’s time with the promotion has come to an end.

Two Out Of Three Falls For #1 Contendership for the NXT Title: Sami Zayn vs. Samoa Joe: This match started off incredibly slow as both competitors felt each other out, using strikes and standup submissions to establish their own pace. Samoa Joe was dominant for a while, but Zayn was able to escape the Muscle Buster, as was Joe slippery enough to dodge the Koji Clutch. After Zayn was unable to pick up Joe for the Blue Thunder, Joe scored another near-fall with a Stan Hansen-esque Clothesline. After Zayn decided to get high risk, Joe hit the corner Urinage Suplex and then followed it up with the Muscle Buster for the first pinfall.
