Review Fix had the opportunity to talk to “Son of Zorn†star Johnny Pemberton, who plays Alan on the series, and director Eric Appel.
“Son of Zorn†has Zorn (Jason Sudeikis), a 2D animated character who looks like he can be He-Man’s cousin, leaving his home of Zephyria to reunite with his ex-wife, Edie (Cheryl Hines), and son, Alan (Pemberton), in real-life Orange County.
Pemberton and Appel talk about the collaboration on the new Fox series, which has welcomed the voices of everyone involved, and the difficulties of improv on a show whose title character is a 2D animated creation – a difficulty that is eased with the aforementioned collaboration.
Appel also gives us a tease as to what characters from Zephyria we will see later on in the freshman season.
