WWE RAW Coverage: Joe Wants Gold

Awful booking of Elias Sampson and Finn Balor aside, this was a solid episode of RAW that pushes Samoa Joe as the elite heel he is and finally begins the Matt Hardy era on RAW.

Intercontinental Champion Roman Reigns vs. Jason Jordan: Reigns won with The Superman Punch and Spear, but Jordan made him work for it. After the match, Joe appeared but caught a Superman Punch for his efforts.

Sasha Banks: w/Mickie James and Bayley vs. Paige w/Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose: You knew it was going to happen as a distraction from Absolution allowed Paige to hit The Ra-Paige for the win.

Fatal 4-Way Match: Cedric Alexander vs. Mustafa Ali vs. Drew Gulak vs. Tony Nese: Alexander was the star here, but Gulak got the shocking win with the Running Knee variation and now will face Rich Swann, with the winner getting a shot at the Cruiserweight title.

Asuka vs. Alicia Fox: Asuka won with the Arm Bar and after the match Absolution Best on Fox some more.

Finn Balor vs. Bo Dallas w/Curtis Axel: The numbers game worked for Dallas until Balor had enough of it and won with the Coup De Grace.

The Shield: Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins vs. WWE RAW Tag Team Champions: The Bar: Sheamus and Cesaro: After some drama, the match was restarted as a no DQ but that’s where Samoa Joe played a role and helped The Bar hold on to their titles.
