Reboot. That’s what’s going on in Global Force Wrestling following Austin Aries’ win over Eli Drake for the GFW title. Stagnation and decline are a scary thing to avoid in pro wrestling and with the exodus of several stars, the brand had to do something. Can Aries reignite the promotion?
Matches:
Fallah Bahh vs. Impact Grand Champion: Matt Sydal: Baht looked good and nearly won with a Banzai Drop, but missed, allowing Sydal to retain with the Shooting Star Press.
KM vs. Bobby Lashley: KM dominated on the outside, but Lashley got the clean win with a Pumplehandle Slam and the Spear.
GFW Knockouts Champion Laurel Van Ness vs. Kiera Hogan: Ness with the Curb Stomp and Unprettier, but a distraction from Allie allowed Hogan to win the non-title match with a Rollup.
Ethan Carter III and Alberto El Patron vs. Johnny Impact and Moose: Lots of hate here and it showed with the strikes. They were stiff. Everyone got their licks in, but Moose won with the Game Changer.
Austin Aries vs. GFW World Champion Eli Drake w/Chris Adonis: Drake talked smack before the match and avoided a confrontation, but tried to steal a win and call a referee down. As soon as the match started, however, Aries hit a Dropkick in the corner and the Brainbuster for the win.
