Game Dev Diary: ‘TR1S’ Get Pixelated & Renamed To ‘KROOM’

We found out pretty quickly that in order for TR1S to become a reality, we had to shake things up a bit.  My brother and I both work full time and have zero funding, so this is essentially a side-project.

Since my last post, we’ve been working hard on the story with author Patrick Hickey Jr. on the overarching story for three games and our intention is to mimic the art style of different generations over the course of the trilogy.  KROOM is the first installation mimicking the resolution, color palettes and gameplay of mid-80’s console and computer games.

The best way to describe KROOM is a hackNslash/shooter experience as if Legend Of Zelda mashed up with Ikari Warriors.  In other words, “what if Link had guns too?”

We showed KROOM at the NY Nerds Show last month and the response was very positive!!
