WWE RAW Coverage: The Club Rising

Paul Heyman is certainly trying. For starters, there are fresh matchups and new champions. Simply put, this week’s RAW was the best in a while. But is it the start of something fresh, or the best Heyman can come up with? At this point, there needs to be a real Universal Champion, so this could all be for naught if Brock Lesnar maintains his stranglehold on the title post-Summerslam. However, with Lesnar destroying Seth Rollins this week, perhaps Heyman has found a way to better utilize the Champ. At any rate, this was definitely a step in the right direction.

Matches:

R-Truth and Carmella vs. Drake Maverick and Renee Michelle: R-Truth won with the Lie Detector, but by the end of the night Mike Kanellis and then Maria had control over the 24/7 Championship.

Gauntlet Match: Rey Mysterio vs. Cesaro vs. Andrade w/Zelina Vega vs. Ricochet vs. Sami Zayn: Winner Becomes Number One Contender for the US Championship: Ricochet ended up victorious with the 630 in the end and vowed to win back the US Title at Summerslam. At one point in the match however, Andrade ripped Mysterio’s mask off.

The Usos vs. The OC: Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson vs. WWE RAW Tag Team Champions The Revival: Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson: Gallows and Anderson won the Tag Team Championship after a Magic Killer to Jimmy Uso.

Viking Raiders: Erik and Ivar vs. Local Enhancement Talent: A squash courtesy of the Viking Experience.

Alexa Bliss w/Nikki Cross vs. WWE RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch: The ref called for the bell after Bliss grabbed her ankle in pain, awarding the win to Lynch.

Impromptu: Nikki Cross vs. WWE RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch: Lynch was in this, but she was at a disadvantage, having already wrestled. Cross took advantage for a while, but Lynch won with the Manhandle Slam after a valiant comeback.

Seth Rollins vs. Dolph Ziggler: This got thrown out, as Brock Lesnar hits the ring and absolutely destroys Rollins, who was actually spitting up blood.
