AEW Dynamite Results: Fyter Fest Night One Recap

Night one of Fyter Fest was white-hot. Excellent matches from top to bottom. The hype is sky-high for next week.

Matches:

MJF and Wardlow vs. Jurassic Express: Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus w/ Marko Stunt: MJF tried to use the Dynamite Diamond Ring but wound up catching Wardlow in the jaw with it. Luchasaurus capitalized with a few kicks to the head plus a Chokeslam and a Moonsault to put Mr. Mayhem down for three. This is the first time Wardlow has been pinned in AEW.

AEW Women’s World Championship Match: “The Superbad Girl” Penelope Ford w/ “Superbad” Kip Sabian vs. The AEW Women’s World Champion: Hikaru Shida: An early MOTN contender, Ford had the performance of a lifetime, but Shida stood tall. Though it took two Running Knees to the back of the head, a Falcon Arrow, and another knee to the face for good measure.

AEW TNT Championship Match: Jake Hager vs. The AEW TNT Champion: “The American Nightmare: Cody w/ “The Enforcer” Arn Anderson: Another great match. Hager had Cody in the Head and Arm Triangle Choke but the Champ put Big Hurt’s shoulders to the mat and got the desperation win to retain his title.

Santana and Ortiz vs. Private Party: Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy w/ Matt Hardy: Private Party got a huge win with the Gin and Juice.

AEW World Tag Team Championship Match: Best Friends: Trent and Chuck Taylor vs. The AEW World Tag Team Champions: “Hangman” Adam Page and Kenny Omega: Best Friends gave the Champs all they could handle. The match went for nearly 20 minutes until Page took Trent’s head off with a Buckshot Lariat to retain the titles. FTR came out after the match to offer the victors a beer but it nearly turned into a brawl when Omega spilled his out. The Young Bucks had to run in and cool things off.
