NXT Coverage: New Year’s Delight

While there was plenty of filler, the matches that mattered delivered.

Matches:

Damian Priest vs. Karrion Kross w/Scarlett: The Doomsday Saito and a European Uppercut put a very game Priest away.

NXT Cruiserweight Champion Santos Escobar w/Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza vs. Gran Metalik: Lince Dorado helped even things up, but Wilde and Mendoza played a role before Mendoza won with the Phantom Driver.

Xia Li w/Boa vs. Katrina Cortez: Li won with a ton of Kicks. Cortez never had a chance.

Rhea Ripley vs. Raquel González: This was a wonderful encounter that saw Gonzalez win with a Chokelsam THROUGH the stage.

Candice LeRae and Johnny Gargano vs. Shotzi Blackheart and Kushida: Gargano accidentally neutered Austin Theory and that distraction allowed Kushida to roll him up for the win.

NXT Champion Finn Balor vs. Kyle O’Reilly: This was the best match of the night on both shows as these two just destroyed each other with strikes, counters and Suplexes. Balor ended up with the win with a modified Rings of Saturn/Crossface after he worked on O’Reilly’s jaw. This was a moment.
