Graham And The Band Upstairs ‘Home To You’ Single Review: Touching

Bob Dylan and Neil Young would be proud of Graham and The Band Upstairs’ new track, “Home To You,” but there’s a bit of Stevie Nicks and Don Henley’s “Leather and Lace” in there as well. Taking some deep and warm lyrics and adding some beautiful guitar work, alongside some beautiful duet vocals and it’s easy to see there’s a recipe for success here.

Telling the story of a man stumbling into a bar, it’s easy to stop there, but there’s so much more. After a few seconds, this becomes something so much greater than the sum of its parts. A tale of a man who, in his own way, always knew where he was going. The “man telling a story” formula works well in a country track, but this isn’t a country track. There are elements of folk, Americana and classic rock here, too.

This track is a dish that can’t be described in one listen. The guitar works inspire you to play along with your fingers and the lyrics are as sage as they are warm. Add all this together and this is the type of track perfect for nights alone for writing or even on a cold day where you want just to relax.

Powered by soul-infused lyrics’ Graham and The Band Upstairs hit on some sultry old-school love songs while adding something unique to the formula.
