Impact Wrestling Coverage: Cody Comes Up Short in Quest for TNA Gold

A new mystery faction, Eddie Edwards growing into his role as TNA World Heavyweight Champion, Tyrus’ mentoring of Mahabali Shera and the dominance of the Hardy Boys made for an excellent episode of Impact that didn’t let up.


Moose vs. Bobby Lashley: This match went longer than expected and had a great finish as Lashley countered the Go to Hell and Hit the Rockpedo Spear for the win.

TNA Tag Team Champions Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy w/Reby Hardy vs. The Tribunal: Baron Dax and Basile Baraka: Matt got the win with the Twist of Fate on Dax after Jeff hit the Twist of hate. Overall, the Tribunal proved themselves here, using quick tags and nearly won when they nailed Matt with their Double Chokeslam combination.

Mahabali Shera vs. Michael Bennett w/Maria Kanellis Bennett: A better match than expected. Shera nearly won but Bennett hit the Eye Rake and followed it up with a Miracle in Progress for the victory.

Cody Rhodes w/Brandi Rhodes vs. TNA World Heavyweight Champion Eddie Edwards: A near 15-minute match with a ton of back and forth action as Rhodes pushed Edwards to his limit. However after Rhodes hit the Superplex, Edwards trapped Rhodes’ legs to secure the win. After the match, Maria Kanellis Bennett took out Brandi Rhodes to start another feud.
